List of WVU Queen's Scouts (1973 - 2008)
The Unit has always strived for its members to achieve as many different awards as possible, as well as giving them memories that will last a lifetime. Members have always aimed to complete the Queen's Scout Award (and hence, become a Queen's Scout) and in recent years, simultaneously work through the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Other awards we have always strived to achieve are things like the Bronze Medallion, Award of Merit, Pool Lifeguard, other First Aid qualifications, BCU (canoeing/kayaking awards), Climbing awards such as the SPA (Single Pitch Award), Mountain Leadership awards, and so on.
Over the last 40 years we have had many members achieve the Queen's Scout Award, the highest youth accomplishment in Scouting. We have two honours boards at our HQ (one is full of names) which list all the members who have achieved it.
